SAINTS will be looking to bury the Good Friday hoodoo once and for all tomorrow after eight painful Easters.

Wigan boss Shaun Wane traditionally beams like a Cheshire cat after this fixture - having never lost one since he took over the coaching reins.

Saints’ last Easter success came at the DW Stadium on Maundy Thursday 2009, with the club’s last Good Friday victory coming the year before under Daniel Anderson.

Saints boss Justin Holbrook is keen to bury it at first time of asking on his Good Friday debut - after sinking the Craven Park hoodoo at the weekend.

He said: “I am not sure that the record plays on the players’ minds.

“Going into last week people were telling me that we didn’t have a good record at Hull KR but I didn’t pay attention to that.

“It was about us just going there and playing well and we had a good win.

“It is the same approach this Friday.

“Sure, people point it out that we have not won it in eight years. I can’t do anything about that but I can do something about this Friday and so hopefully our players can stop that run and we won’t have to hear it any more.”

Jon Wilkin and James Roby are the only Saints remaining from Saints last Good Friday win in 2008, when Saints triumphed 46-10.
