ST HELENS Ladies player Tara Jones made history yesterday when she became Super League's first ever on-field female official.
She made her Super League debut as in-goal touch judge in the Wigan Warriors v Wakefield Trinity on Sunday.
However, Jones is not just a match official, she recently signed for St Helens Ladies, having previously played for Thatto Heath.
It continues her progression as an official having also officiated in the Challenge Cup and at Wembley for Championship Schools – the curtain raiser to the Challenge Cup Final.
