SAINTS travel to Warrington Wolves tonight, 7.45pm, looking to maintain their winning start to Super League.

Although Saints have enjoyed plenty of success at the HJ Stadium, they have lost on their last two visits.

Last season, two weeks before Justin Holbrook's arrival, Saints put in a lame display against an Harvey Livett-inspired Wolves and were trounced 40-18.

And in their previous visit they were controversially knocked out in the 2016 Super League semi-final.

Prior to that Saints had won many a thriller during what was a remarkable winning run over their local rivals.

The most famous one of those was the clash of March 2005.

Saints had trailed 16-4 with seven minutes to play when Darren Albert crossed in the corner.

The kick was missed but back came Saints and with less than four minutes on the clock Micky Higham dashed in for a converted try to cut the deficit to 16-14.

And that is how it stayed - and there were just three seconds on the clock when Jamie Lyon punted the ball into the air where Albert tapped it back allowing Keiron Cunningham to gather and touch down.

The video ref gave it the thumbs up to cap another 'Never write off the Saints' moment.

Tonight is the first time the clubs have met since Justin Holbrook took over at Saints.

Wolves, too, have a new boss in Steve Price.

Another point of interest is the presence of Ben Barba, who chose Saints over Warrington when he came to England last May.
