A SAINTS Select side ran out 38-26 winners against North Wales Crusaders on Sunday.
A strong line-up took to the field at the Queensway Stadium in Wrexham, featuring some first-teamers who were absent from Friday's Super League win over Castleford.
These included Scotland international prop Luke Douglas, scrumhalf Matty Smith and winger Adam Swift who crossed for a hat-trick against the League One outfit.
Saints took the lead when fullback Tom Nisbett shows good footwork to go over, Rob Fairclough converting.
Crusaders pulled it back to 6-4 through Adam Conroy before Swift, showed a clean pair of heels to go 70 metres to stretch Saints' lead with his first.
John Hutchings got Saints a third, with Fairclough converting from the touchline and Matty Smith crossed just before the break to give the visitors a 24-4 lead.
The hosts got the second half scoring underway three minutes after the restart following Kenneth Baker's one-on-one ball steal.
However, Swift extended the Saints lead to 30-10 after his second and then completed his hat-trick on the hour-mark.
The home side went over for two quick tries to pull the scoreline back to 34-20 before Ben Morris added Saints' seventh of the afternoon.
North Wales finished the scoring with a late try from Joseph Bate.
