JAMES Roby will be the new club captain for Saints in 2018, coach Justin Holbrook has announced.
The hooker will take on the armband from Jon Wilkin who has had three years in the role.
Holbrook said: "I want to thank Jon Wilkin - he has done a fantastic job over three seasons. He is a very busy man but he always puts the club first.
"There are two major reasons for making the change. Jon Wilkin will play limited game time this year and I want our captain to be out on the field for the majority if not all of the game.
"The second reason is that this guy (Roby) deserves to captain the club and if he doesn't do it now he might run out of time.
"It gives me great pleasure to announce the 2018 captain will be James Roby.
"I think Robes is the perfect fit for the club - and I'm really looking forward to having him captain us."
