- SAINTS have suffered a golden point heartbreak at Castleford in the Super League semi-final.
- They recovered from a shocking start after conceding a Zak Hardaker try in the opening minute, but tries from Regan Grace and Morgan Knowles sent them in 10-8 up at half time. In the second half Cas took the lead through Luke Gale and Adam Milner tries before Saints hit back through scores from Tommy Makinson, Mark Percival and Ryan Morgan. But a late Gale penalty took it into golden point.
- Gale missed one and then Smith fluffed Saints' only attempt, but that allowed Cas to come up the other end to steal it.
