SAINTS hooker James Roby cleaned up at the club's season awards night.

The non-stop international number nine collected Players’ Player of the Year, the Members’ Player of the Year and the Player of the Year accolades last night.

It was a reward for another series of outstanding and consistent performances, during an often turbulent year, from the former Man of Steel.

Although the high benchmark he has set himself means that his top-drawer performances are often taken for granted — it has clearly not gone unnoticed by the supporters, players and the club hierarchy.

Chairman Eamonn McManus called him a once in a generation player whilst head coach Justin Holbrook said: “For James to win the Players’, fans’ and the main award shows how good he is.

"He is the best player in the comp.”

Josh Simm won the 16s Player of the Year whilst Matty Lees, who made his first team debut recently, took home the 19s Player of the Year.

Reserves Player of the Year was Danny Richardson; Regan Grace was named Young Player of the Year and the Player of the Year Runner Up was Alex Walmsley.
