SAINTS don’t expect Huddersfield to roll over on Friday night, simply because they can no longer qualify for the semi-finals.

Giants took a drubbing at Salford last week to end their slim hopes of making the top four.

Saints are still in the hunt after last week's last gasp win at Wakefield - but need to win their last two games and depend on slip ups from Hull. Wigan and Wakefield.

Although Huddersfield at home, on paper, looks straightforward Justin Holbrook is not taking the game for granted against a side that has finished the year well and has been troublesome for Saints all season.

He said: “Outside of last week they have been playing real good.

“They have some dangerous players and they will want to pick up after last week.

“There is obviously more in it for us though.

“We just need to play well.”

Half back Danny Brough has tormented Saints this year.

And that has meant that Saints are yet to beat the Claret and Golds, losing one and drawing the other.

They have to keep a good eye on the Scottish skipper this week if they are to secure the win they need to keep their year alive.

Ben Barba had an uncomfortable night under the high ball at Wakefield, but those kicks were dollies compared to spiral bombs Brough is capable of.

Saints will expect an aerial bombardment so will need to apply some good pressure on the pugnacious half every last tackle play.

Holbrook said: “Brough has a great kicking game and we have to do a good job there.

“He has a lot of experienc, Sebastine Ikahihifo is a real terrier and Ryan Hinchcliffe gives them good leadership too.

“We have to do a good job on their key players on Friday."

Points difference could be telling if Wigan and Hull do slip up, but chasing points is not the main focus ahead of this game, but it could be a handy by-product.

“If we have to fight to the 80th minute to win so be it, but if we are good enough to win by 20 I expect us to do that.

“It is too hard to predict anything else - we have to play the best we can.”
