SAINTS needed a late Jonny Lomax try to snatch a 18-16 victory at Wakefield Trinity.
Two Bill Tupou tries and three Liam Finn penalties had put Trinity in the driving seat, with Saints posting tries from Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook and Theo Fages in return.
Trailing by four points, with two minutes on the clock, Saints gave the ball some air and with one desperate play Mark Percival kicked through with Regan Grace putting enough pressure on Scott Grix to force the error.
Lomax was there to pounce for the try that keeps Saints' season alive with two games to play.
Bernard Platt was there, as ever, to capture the key moments of the match.
