  • It looked like the season was going to end at Belle Vue with Saints trailing 16-12 with two minutes to go.
  • And then they gave it some air, with Mark Percival's kick, chased by Regan Grace forcing an error to allow Lomax to swoop on to the loose ball.
  • It had been a tough game for Saints, with some poor ball control and some jitters under the high ball costing thjem.
  • Wakefield's wing Bill Tupou has scored two first half tries, with one from Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook sandwiched in between them to keep saints in it.
  • The second half was completely controlled by Wakefield's halves and pack, keeping Saints in their own half.
  • But after a Liam Finn penalty had made it 14-6, Theo Fages gave them hope.
  • Another Finn penalty made it 16-12, but it was a miss that gave Saints a last chance.
  • In the set after Finn's kick had hit the post, Saints went the full length, keeping the ball alive.
