LUKE Douglas is closing in on a return for Saints but Adam Swift has suffered a setback.

Australian prop forward Douglas has trained today and could well feature in the Super 8s Round Three trip to Leeds Rhinos on Friday as Saints aim to return to winning ways.

"Luke Douglas is touch and go for this week," said head coach Justin Holbrook.

"He trained today so we'll just have to see how he gets on in the next couple of days.

"He's had an issue with a sore knee but he trained pretty good today."

Holbrook would be keen to have the Scotland international back on the field as soon as he is ready to do so.

"We've definitely missed him," he added.

"I said that as soon as he was out. He does a lot of work in the middle of the field that goes unnoticed and it stands out even more when you have a tight game like we had against Hull on Friday.

"He's been a good part of our side in the middle."

Winger Swift made his comeback from injury with the reserves against Wigan on Saturday but he had to be replaced within five minutes.

Adam Swift: "He was out injured for a few weeks and he came back at the weekend in the reserves but hurt his shoulder within five minutes," said Holbrook.

"He was getting scans on that this afternoon, so hopefully it's not too bad.

"It wasn't great that he only got five minutes. It's a new injury as he was out for a few weeks with a hernia and groin issues."

Holbrook reports no fresh injuries from the first-team's home loss to Hull C.

"It was a disappointing game in general and we were the poorer of the two sides," he said.

"In saying that, it was only a 50-metre penalty goal that separated the two teams.

"We're good with regards to injuries, that's definitely a bonus."
