SAINTS boss Keiron Cunningham has a welcome selection headache ahead of Thursday night’s sudden death Super League semi-final at Warrington.

James Roby returns, while Greg Richards and Adam Swift have both been cleared followed their mandatory spell on the sidelines after their concussion.

But the performances of the payers who stepped into their shoes last weekend – Theo Fages, Ollie Davies and hat-trick hero Shannon McDonnell - has given Cunningham some food for thought.

He said: “Young Theo did a great job and Shannon has been superb for the last two weeks, so selection is going to be tough.

“I also thought young Ollie Davies put his hand up. He has got a lot of fight in him, which is pleasing. He did not look out of place in that game of Super League.

“But that is what you want as a coach – you want headaches and decisions to be hard.

“We had a good runabout on Monday and have had a look at a few different things so I have a good idea where we are going to be heading with the squad and will go from there.”

Centre Mark Percival returned for the first half of the win against Wakefield but was withdrawn at half time.

“Percy was always earmarked for 40 minutes, and we knew it would cause disruption.

“That said he was the best player on the field for 40 minutes and had a big influence on things.

“He is a really good player. He has come back sooner than we thought but we cannot die wondering.

“He had a good crack at it on Friday, and came through unscathed and he will have a good a good shot for us on Thursday.

“Adam Swift and Greg Richards are both clear from their head knocks and trained on Monday. We are probably going to be as fit as we are going to be on Thursday,” Cunningham said.
