NOTHING gets a crowd up on its feet more than a flying wingman running them in.

And on Friday night Saints clicked, with Adam Swift running in four and having two more crossed off.

Swift took his tries majestically, beating a Hull KR winger in Kieron Dixon, who is no slouch himself, on the outside.

Coach Keiron Cunningham was delighted with his wing.

He said: “It was Swaffer at his best. I had a good conversation with him last week, we spoke about a few things in depth.

“I knew he was going to play well and I told my staff the day before the game that.

“He looked like a different animal on Friday and I am hoping now that he has found his mojo again and he is going to keep on influencing the team to do well.

“The bloke inside him [Mark Percival] did well to and that helps.”

They were also assisted by Jonny Lomax’s intervention.

“Jonny is a great full back – our biggest issue with him is trying to keep him on the field consistently.

“You combine that with Mark Percival and Swaffer flying then there are not many teams who can deal with that.

“Scoring 40 points in 40 minutes is not easy but you could see the boys growing in confidence as the game went on,” he said.

There were also good flashes from Dominique Peyroux - a player yet to really find his feet or position since joining in the off season.

“I have to manage Dom, but he has been off the field as much as he has been on it. He is strong and has a bit of skill and can influence the club really well.

“We need him on the field a lot more than he has bwwn but he is working hard away from the field.

“It was no co-incidence that bringing Dom back made that side of the field look more stable.

“Shannon McDonnell was safe too and after the way he played at Catalans he deserved his shot.

“We needed to change that right edge up a bit because it had gone a bit stagnant.

“Matty Fleming was doing well and his carries were really threatening before his knock but we are hoping he can kick on and be ready for the Wakefield game,” Cunningham said.

Looking ahead, Saints are hopeful on a Luke Walsh return for the Wakefield game or just after.

“We are hopeful we have got another week after this.

“It was a two-week injury, we brought him on the training field and it didn’t look right and if it became a two month injury that’s the season,” he said.

Theo Fages has had surgery and will be out for eight weeks.
