SAINTS jump out of the frying pan and into the fire when they travel to new league leaders Hull FC on Saturday.

At the time of going to press it was still unclear whether Jonny Lomax and Mark Percival would be fit for the trip to the KC Stadium, for the clash which is the second part of the Steve Prescott Cup.

Although it is the start of three games against the top three, Saints must post a response after last week’s effort.

Coach Keiron Cunningham said: “It will be nice to get a really good response against a good side.

“We go to Hull and nobody has given us a chance anyway, everyone has written us off.

“We have got to go there, be tough and play physical and see where that leads to.

“Hull are flying - they are brilliant at the moment, you saw what they did to us in the cup and then they went to Wigan and blew them away.

“They are a tough side. A big physical side who have plenty of points in them and they know how to do the tough stuff too.

“It is going to be a tough place to go, but there is no better challenge in rugby league than going to the league leaders off the back of a tough week.

“Hull are on the crest of a wave – it would be nice to have a good shot at them.”
