SAINTS have named their 19-man squad for tonight's (Thursday) Super League Round 2 trip to Salford Red Devils.

They are without James Roby and Dominique Peyroux who picked up injuries in the opener against Huddersfield.

Keiron Cunningham has added Morgan Knowles and Calvin Wellington to the 19-man squad.

This gives the option of keeping Jordan Turner at six, using Knowles and Theo Fages in tandem at nine and handing Welshman Wellington his senior debut in the centre.

It could be that Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook, who has filled in at centre in the past, is moved from the back row.

Alternatively, Fages could move to six, with Turner going back to the centres with Knowles going to nine, spelled by another forward.

Skipper Jon Wilkin operated there in the second half on Friday after Roby’s injury.

Salford lost their opener 46-20 at Hull FC on Friday, but Saints coach Keiron Cunningham saw spirit there.

He said: "Even though they looked like they could not stay with the Hull pack I liked the fight they had right till the end.

"That is the difference - last year it would have been 60 or 70 points, but this side looked a lot fitter and kept fighting.

"I think they will be going in the right direction. They have a very mobile, fit pack that gets in your face.

"Flash (Mark Flanagan) and Josh Jones will have a few points to prove."
