SAINTS have installed a magnificent player mural comprising a number of club legends in the concourse of the North Stand in time for the opening of the club's fifth season at Langtree Park.

They have also put up individual player murals of Bobbie Goulding, Roy Haggerty, Sonny Nickle and Ade Gardner.

The new giant mural contains many of Saints' greatest past players.

The iconic photo of Paul Wellens celebrating the 2014 Grand Final victory over Wigan takes centrepiece in this magnificent piece of work.

Club Chairman Eamonn McManus, RFL Chairman Brian Barwick, Paul Wellens and Ken Hughes of Vinyline witnessed the event.

McManus said: “We now have 72 individual murals of our past players in the public concourse of our stadium, which is fast becoming a shrine to St Helens and to rugby league.

“The addition of this superb giant mural in the North Stand now sets the scene off perfectly. We have a great and modern stadium, and we have succeeded in bringing our tradition and history to it with these images and life histories of so many of our great players.

“Ken Hughes of Vinyline has done a marvellous job in creating, producing and installing the murals and this latest major piece of work is due testament to his and his company's talent.

“It all started four years ago with just a single mural of all-time great Tom Van Vollenhoven, and has since developed to include all of our Hall of Famers as well other outstanding performers for the Club throughout its long and illustrious history."
