MATTHEW Haggarty has rejoined his first club Salford Red Devils on a season-long loan.

The prop forward originally signed from Dewsbury Rams on a three-year contract in February 2015.

He was immediately loaned back to the Rams before being recalled later in the year to spend the rest of the season with Rochdale.

Now, he will join the Red Devils for the upcoming First Utility Super League campaign.

The 24-year-old has played 93 times in his career to date.

As well as appearing for the Rams and Hornets, he has also played for Whitehaven, Barrow and Oldham.

A Saints spokesman said: "This is a good move for Matt as he needs regular first team football at a high level.

"He will get this at Salford and we will be monitoring his progress closely."

Haggarty added: "‘I'm excited to be back at Salford for 2016; it's where I started and I'm looking forward to getting some game time.

"I'm just going to play as well and as much as I can and impress the people I need to."

The former Leigh Miner is no stranger to Salford having been there as a junior in 2008.
