THE September nominations for the First Utility Super League Player of the Month award have been revealed today following the final month of the regular season.
Last month saw the league’s top four finalised as the Super 8s came to an enthralling climax, as Rhinos, Warriors, Giants and Saints all made the cut after impressive campaigns.
After one of the most dramatic ends to a season in recent memory, Leeds Rhinos lifted the league leader’s shield before beating St Helens in the play-off semi-final. Wigan booked their third consecutive First Utility Super League Grand Final with a convincing win over the Giants.
September’s First Utility Super League Player of the Month shortlist was revealed in today’s League Weekly with the following players making the shortlist (in no particular order):
• John Bateman (Wigan Warriors).
• Danny McGuire (Leeds Rhinos).
• Jermaine McGillvary (Huddersfield Giants).
• Luke Walsh (St Helens).
• Kevin Penny (Warrington Wolves).
Working in conjunction with League Weekly and the fans, the competition recognises one player each month for this prestigious accolade using a new process for the 2015 First Utility Super League season.
Fans have the opportunity to vote for the player they believe deserves the award via www.facebook.com/firstutilitysuperleague
Each fan who votes will go into a prize draw with one lucky supporter getting the chance to present the First Utility Super League Player of the Month trophy to the winning player.
The two players with the most votes will then be considered by a judging panel consisting of representatives from First Utility and League Weekly, before the overall winner and September’s Player of the Month will be revealed.
Fans have until 2pm on Thursday 8th October to register their votes for the September First Utility Super League Player of the Month award.
