SAINTS stand off Travis Burns has had surgery on his troublesome arm which means he will remain on the sidelines for Thursday’s last game of the Super 8s against Warrington.

But coach Keiron Cunningham has faith in the midfield combination of Jordan Turner, Luke Walsh and Jon Wilkin to take care of matters this week and then going into the knockout stages if needs be.

Turner, who was initially moved from centre to the loose forward berth, has now slotted in at six because the coach wants him to get more involved.

And Saints went so well against Wigan last Friday that Cunningham sounded pretty relaxed about the absence of the Burns.

Cunningham said: “Travis had surgery on Friday after having a bit of a problem with his arm, so I am not sure when he will play next.

“Then again the set up of the team is going well, so if Travis was fit, would he play?

"If you look at the way Wilko, JT and Luke Walsh are going I am not sure (he would come straight in).

“Jordan can play 80, is good defensively, kicks the ball great and talks really well.”

“ Defensively, as well as with the ball, we looked really good and solid.

“It’s been a long time since we have been able to say that so it would be hard to change that.

“Travis may be fit for the semi, but we will see.”
