PROP forward Anthony Walker has joined Wakefield for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old packman will link up with his new teammates immediately and has moved to gain regular first team football.

'Walks' made his debut at Bradford in February 2013 and went on to be one of Nathan Brown's preferred bench forwards until an ankle injury curtailed his run.

He went out on dual-registration and then was capped for Wales in the Rugby League World Cup to round off an excellent debut season.

2014 brought eight appearances as injury curtailed a promising campaign.

Saints Chief Executive Mike Rush said: “It's always hard when a player who has come through the system here leaves the club.

“Anthony is a hard working player but has found chances limited in a squad that has a number of forwards.

“We wish him all the best at Wakefield and we will be keeping an eye on how he progresses.”

A former swimming champion, Walker made 17 appearances in the red vee.
