SAINTS ended their four-year Magic hoodoo with a stirring second half rally to tame the Wolves at Newcastle United's St James' Park.
Saints had suffered three heavy defeats on their last three Magic outings at Manchester's Etihad - two to Wolves and one to Wigan - and at times in the first half it looked as though they were going to have some more misery.
Bernard Platt was there to capture the game and the crowd's reaction.
1. Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook grabbed Saints' crucial first try from a Jon Wilkin kick that had taken a deflection. It was a vital six-pointer in response to Warrington's opening two tries.
2. Kyle Amor celebrates with Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook after the 21 minute score.
3. Jon Wilkin made it a real captain's knock. Here he tries to get the kick away despite the attention of Ben Westwood.
4. Travis Burns nails Ben Currie as saints defend their line. Saints' tackling, particularly in the second half, was immense.

5. Jordan Turner takes on Joel Monaghan before throwing the ball wide for Adam Swift to polish off and get Saints back in it after the break.
6. The smile on Jon Wilkin's face tells everyone that the skipper has just managed to get the ball down to put Saints in front for the first time on 57 minutes.
7. New-look Josh Jones has been one of Saints' most improved platyers in recent weeks. And he got through plenty of work in the middle of the field.
8. Tommy Makinson was immense with the ball and in defence. His ball-and-all crash tackle on Daryl Clark, when the Wolves were pressing from a series of repeat sets, secured the result.
9. James Roby takes the salute from the crowd. Roby had to leave the field early in the game after taking a head knock, but was back on ten minutes later.
10. Kyle Amor, Andre Savelio and Josh Jones take the applause from the Saints contingent at St James' Park.
11. Saints' support may not have been as big as their Wolves counterparts - but they made up for that with noise and kept the team going from the start of the second half.
12. A contented winning skipper Jon Wilkin
13. Joy and relief from the Saints support!
