SAINTS won't be taking any chances tonight when they take on a Wakefield side that have hit a slide since the early part of the campaign.

Boss Keiron Cunningham - bearing in mind the Wildcats' previous game against Wigan - wants his team to make it physically tough for the visitors.

Trinity have a number of players - not least their architect Tim Smith - who can play football if allowed to do so.

Wigan went to Belle Vue last week maybe expecting a cakewalk after their 80-0 drubbing at Warrington and found themselves in an ugly, messy game.

Cunningham said: "They are not going to be an easy team to play against no matter who they have playing. Our biggest issue is going to be us. If we turn up with the right attitude, on both sides of the ball, defence and attack, then we will be tough to beat.

"Their match against Wigan was a really messy game and like touch and pass at times. That’s what Wakefield are good at. If the ruck is quick and they are playing on the front foot Tim Smith is a super player and they enjoy having the ball in their hands.

"We have to make everything uncomfortable for Wakefield in attack and defence and make it a really physical game.

"We have been sharp in training this week, both edges looked sharp – I am confident that the boys are going to go in with right attitude."

Saints' new signing Shannon McDonnell comes straight into the squad after flying in from Sydney yesterday.
