In what will be a ‘home’ forest gig for the band, they are the third and final headline act performing in Delamere Forest, Cheshire, this July.

Since forming in Manchester in 1982, James's enduring creativity and musical legacy has made them one of the most influential British indie bands.

Among 20 Top 40 singles in the UK, James’ anthemic hits include: ‘Sit Down’, ‘She’s A Star’, ‘Laid’, ‘Born Of Frustration’, ‘Sometimes’ and ‘Getting Away With It (All Messed Up)’.

In a career spanning over 3 decades, top 10 albums like ‘Gold Mother’, ‘Seven’, ‘Laid’, ‘Whiplash’ and ‘Millionaires’ have contributed to over 13 million worldwide album sales and have helped to build one of the most intensely loyal fanbases in the business.

Famed for their incendiary live performances, their festival CV includes international appearances at Lollapalooza and Coachella (USA), Rock In Rio (Brazil), and closer to home; Glastonbury, T in the Park and Isle of Wight.

Forest Live is an independent programme organised by the Forestry Commission to bring forests to new audiences without commercial branding or sponsorship. Income generated from ticket sales is spent on protecting, improving and expanding England’s forests and woodlands and increasing their value to people and wildlife.

Over Forest Live’s 14 year history, money raised has contributed to a wide range of projects, from wildlife conservation to making improvements for visitors. With everything required for a great night out, including full catering and bar facilities, the gigs are renowned for their relaxed atmosphere.

Commenting on the date, Tim Booth of James said, “Delamere is our local gig on the Forest Live circuit so a James performance there is long overdue and we’re very happy to be part of this cause.”

James plus guests will be performing: Sunday 5 July, Delamere Forest, near Northwich, Cheshire.
