WHEN Kel Coslett joined the Saints more than 50 years ago from South Wales he took up residence on Willow Road as he began his Knowsley Road odyssey.
Lodging with a local family, they looked after the young Bynea full back and made sure he settled in to life as a rugby league player.
In fact, on Kel’s arrival home after a night out, his landlady Mrs Seed, would provide a glass of milk and pie to sustain him ahead of training.
Coslett went on to make more appearances and score more points than any other in the red vee, and is still here, as Life President and Gameday Manager.
Saints are always searching for the next Cosletts, Wellens, Chisnalls and Cunninghams and are casting their net wide and afar - down to Wales and up to Cumbria.
They are looking for families who can take young players in, look after them and perhaps help them on their way to becoming a legend.
