SAINTS have lost to champions Wigan in James Roby's testimonial game at Langtree Park.

Late tries from Wigan's Joe Burgess and Gil Dudson helped secure the 28-16 win for the Warriors.

saints had led 12-6 at the break after Adam Swift and Roby had scored either side of a Liam Farrell touchdown.

The game was marred by a series of penalties, with Saints losing Alex Walmsley to the sin bin as a consequence.

Wigan were first out of the blocks after the break with Burgess crossing to level matters.

And then great support up the middle saw Wigan take the lead with a Green.

Saints responded with a great try of their own from the scrum with Walsh, Lomax and Percival combined to send Swift in for his second.

Walsh's goal hit the post but Saints were now enjoying good pressure.

Saints lost Walsh after a bang to the face 15 minutes from time.

Wigan scored late tries from Burgess and Gil Dudson to seal the victory.
