ALL three of Saints’ new signings will get a run out in next week’s pre-season opener against Huddersfield on Friday, January 11.

Strong-running former Hull duo Willie Manu and Jordan Turner will face up to the Giants, along with young Batley buy Alex Walmsley.

Saints fans have already had plenty of glimpses of the blockbusting Manu wearing an opposition jersey from his days at Castleford and on Humberside – and he also starred for the Exiles at Langtree Park last year.

England Knights three-quarter Turner, too, caught the eye on his last appearance at Saints, when he turned Michael Shenton inside out before racing downfield for a killer try.

Young prop Walmsley, who had a storming year in the Championship to earn a three-year deal at Langtree Park, is a bit more of an unknown quantity to most fans – although at 6ft5 he won’t be hard to identify.

The friendly clash is Nathan Brown’s first in charge of the Saints – and as an added twist the match is against his former club.

If further intrigue was needed, the two teams will meet again for league points Saturday February 2 (4.45pm) when Super League XVIII gets under way.

Tickets for the friendly are £12/£6 standing (adults/juniors) and £14/£7 for seats in the south stand.

Saints’ first team will also be in action the following week when Jon Wilkin hosts his testimonial game against Wakefield on Sunday, January 20.
