St Helens local Beth Stott has helped Firwood Waterloo Ladies rugby team top the national league following her impressive 32 conversions in five games.

With a clean sheet of five wins out of five, the Blundellsands team have amassed a 256 points difference, putting Firwood Waterloo an incredible 115 points clear of their nearest rivals from the 55 teams across three divisions of the women's rugby union, accumulated under the Rapture League.

There have been inspiring displays of rugby from the girls, including the consistency from vice-captain Stott who’s right foot has converted an impressive number of tries so far this season. After last year’s league came down to points difference, the Fly-half’s foot is a vital part of their campaign to win the Championship North 1 League, the first step towards the Premiership.

Richard Freeman, Firwood Waterloo Ladies Head Coach, said “Beth has worked incredibly hard during pre-season with our strength and conditioning coach Rob Naughton on her kicking accuracy, power, and fitness and the improvement has been evident. Her decision making and leadership on the pitch has contributed to a large number of tries, which she has gone on to convert.”
