EVERY once in a while a team has days when after suffering a heavy defeat they can do no more than troop off a pitch and say they were simply outplayed by a much better side.

Saturday at Broughton Park was one of those days, with LSH falling to a 57-14 defeat.

The league leaders had pace in abundance and excellently orchestrated by their two half backs they recorded a big win.

That LSH dominated the opening ten minutes when Park hardly touched the ball counted for nothing when the first converted try was run in from distance in the 15th minute. Three more followed, all converted to make it 28-0 when LSH’S endeavours were rewarded with a try from Dan Filson latching on to his own high kick and chase to score. Park emphasised their superiority by scoring another converted try just before half time.

As in the first, LSH started the second half much the brighter and for 15 minutes took the game to their opposition. After a lengthy phase of attacks Darren Wilson burrowed through for the second try, converted by Filson. It gave LSH false hope however as Broughton Park ran in four more tries in the final 15 minutes to cement their position at the top of the league.

This week LSH are at home to Bowdon 2.15
