WEST Park lost 24-19 at Glossop’s tight pitch which suited the home side’s forwards.

Glossop forwards’ domination enabled them to score two unconverted tries.

An injury to winger Dempsey required a major change to the visitors line up, flanker Cozens moving to centre, fly half Rosney going to wing and Morley introduced from the bench to bolster the pack.

Remarkably this upheaval proved beneficial as a fine move involving both forwards and backs provided man of the match Matt Cozens with a try which winger Hunt converted, and as half time approached an excellent beak by Rosney was finished off in style by No8 Matt Potter to give Park a two point lead.

As in the first half Park were initially slow to settle into the game and Glossop scored two further tries in quick succession within 15 minutes of the restart.

Park however showed commendable spirit in getting back into the game, and after a concerted period of pressure eventually overcame an excellent defensive display by the home side to register a further try from scrum half Danny Green which was brilliantly converted from wide out by Warren Hunt.

Though now very much in command Park were unlucky not to add to their score, time eventually running out to leave them with just a single bonus point for all their efforts.

Park travel to complete their league programme at top of the table Northwich, where a similar show of team spirit and belief in their abilities would once again serve them well.
