ANOTHER all round team performance maintained West Park's unbeaten run this season, with the five tries scored giving them maximum league points once again.

The first half was quite closely contested as several errors by Park, particularly at the break down areas, were punished by the home side’s stand off Lloyd, whose long range kicking on several occasions gained them considerable territorial advantage.

Indeed Collegiate were first on the scoreboard through Lloyd, who converted a penalty awarded against the visitors for unnecessary dissent.

Park, however, came back strongly, and after good interplay amongst their forwards, second row Rob Morley broke clear providing a neat pass to flanker Matt Cozens to score under the posts, a try easily converted by winger Warren Hunt.

Shortly afterwards from a five-metre scrum however Collegiate took the lead as their prop barged over the line to score in the corner, the try however was not converted.

The visitors regained the lead before half time when centre Liam Hill sold two outrageous dummies to break clear of the defence providing a pass to a supporting Rob Morley who scored a try which Hunt readily converted to give the visitors a 14-8 lead at half time.

The second half belonged almost exclusively to West Park, and within five mins of the restart full back Matt Savage fielded a relieving kick on his own 22, mesmerising the Collegiate defence as he beat man after man in a mazy run to score a memorable try, which however went unconverted.

Lloyd then converted a penalty for the home side before

Savage once again added to the score sheet, as the ever improving second row Lewis Harris tidied up some loose play,

feeding scrum half Danny Green who then found the full back in support to cross for his second try, Hunt converting.

A successful penalty by Hunt gave the visitors a comfortable 18 point lead, as Park introduced Marc Bailey and Tom Fortune from the bench to add a fresh impetus to the game.

The visitors were passing the ball with great skill, and the opposition were constantly outplayed.

A final excellent try was scored by centre Liam Hill after good support work from Morley, centre Kal Warburton and Savage, with Hunt once again converting.

With excellent performances from several players, notably amongst others Morley, Hill, Harris, Hunt and Savage, the general consensus was that for his ever reliable and often unsung hard work, flanker Patrick Loughnane shaded the man of the match award this week.

Next week West Park entertain local rivals Liverpool St Helens at Red Rocks, both sides going into the fixture undefeated.
