A VERY impressive win by West Park played in excellent conditions, saw them score five tries to three and secure a bonus point.

It wasn’t long before Matt Savage opened the scoring after a fine break by centre Kal Warburton, the conversion by Warren Hunt taking the score to 7-0.

However, Sefton soon hit back after a series of good scrums, their scrum half broke down the blind side to feed their right wingman Clarkson to score wide out, conversion missed 7-5.

The home side where soon back on the score sheet, a penalty converted by Hunt taking the score to 10-5.

But Sefton were not to be outdone and scored another try near the posts by their prop Gardner, conversion was converted putting Sefton in front 12-10 for the first time.

With half-time fast approaching Parks prop Brad Murray crashed over for a try his second in two weeks, Hunt converted once again 17-12 half time, in what had been a lack lustre performance from Park.

The second half Park started with a determined look about them, Kal Warburton (man of the match) had started to impose himself at centre and after a tremendous tackle on his opposite number, the ball was turned over, Park quickly moving the ball via Liam Hill to the eventual scorer Dom Basley under the posts.

Hunt did the honours once again score 24-12.

Basley was soon back on the score sheet after some very slick handling between Savage and Hill once again ending with Basley going over under the posts, Hunt's successful conversion followed taking the score to 31-12.

Park where now beginning to play with a lot more confidence in the backs and after a series of disallowed tries which the referee had adjudged for various infringements, ranging from forward passes to off side, thus allowing the Sefton forwards to come back into the match and eventually score a converted try from a driving maul taking the score to 31-19.

The game came to a close when once again Park had a series of attacks on the Sefton line eventually resulting in the forwards taking over and a culmination of several driving mauls, left the referee with no other option but to award a penalty try which was duly converted once again by the ever consistent Warren Hunt final score 38-19.

Next week: West Park are away at Liverpool Collegiate kick off 3pm.
