Yet another cliff hanger at Red Rocks, West Park scoring the match winning try in injury time and then having to withstand an agonising further five minutes as Winnington having had what seemed a well earned away win snatched from them,

threw everything at the West Park try line.

Although the visitors pack held the whip hand throughout,Park had scored twice in the first half hour.

Chris Fortune and Lee Rosney both crossing wide out,Maurice Hunt's conversion attempts shaving the outside of the post.

The home pack had already been just about holding their own but the loss of prop Jon Gorst clearly turned the tide in Winnington's favour and the drew level with tries by lock Oliver Hanson and prop Sean Underdown from a driving maul.

A penalty by Hunt gave Park a 13-10 lead but a penalty by visitors full back Sam Brookes in the 46 th minute of the first half levellrd the scores again.

After Hunt was tackled into the corner flag the winger kicked another penalty to regain the lead at 16-13 but seemingly now taking the scrums at will and gaining several turnovers the visitors took control and scored trys by Harold Stubbings and Elliot Wreakes and a conversion by Sam Brookes to hold a significant 25-16 lead with just five minutes remainig plus added time.

Park's final effort bringing trys by Hunt and Gorst who had come back on after repairs in the second half.

Both tries were unconverted but victory was secured.
