THE second Cheshire League match of the season saw four St Helens Sutton A.C. junior members travelling Wrexham where they achieved nine new personal bests.

For the Under11s boys, Jacob Roberts competed in the long jump achieving 3.48m, the 75m finishing in 11.9secs.(pb) and threw the soft javelin 8.57m.(pb).

Elizabeth Greenall got her first pb of the day in the U13yrs girls 200m finishing in 30.2secs, she also threw the shot 6.33m.(pb), ran 2 min.58 secs in the 800m and went on to smash her pb in the high jump with 1.39m.

The club had two athletes representing the U15s boys. Charlie Roberts shot 5.10m.(pb), cleared 1.30m.(pb) in the high jump, and ran 800m in 2 min.19.3 secs. Michael Brussels shot 3.92m.(pb), high jump 1.0m.(pb) and 2 min36.1 in the 800m.

Junior members were also active at the Trafford Open meeting.

In the U13s Hollie Brussels ran the 800m in 3 min.7.47 secs and achieved a pb in the discus with a throw of 9.87m.

Three U15s Men also took part. Michael Brussels ran 2 min.32.45 secs for the 800m, a PB, and had a 11.58m discus throw.

Michael Farr finished 3rd in the 100m in 12.43secs and won the 200m. in 25.13 secs. and Charlie Roberts ran the 800m in 2 min.20.09secs. for third place.

The club’s seniors competed in the North West Track League meeting at Warrington where the competitors had to work hard for their points on a very warm day with many athletes tackling additional events to their specialties.

For the ladies, Lauren Marshall competed in the 100m.(14.0secs.), the 200m.(29.1secs.) and the long jump (3rd.,4.71m).

In the 400m, Olivia Harwood-Moss ran 61.4secs and Maddie Williams 66.07secs. Tricia Spark threw the hammer 40.14m.(2nd.),discus 20.16m. and the shot 8.92m.

Julia Hayes threw the hammer 19.64m and the shot 5.08m. Hannah Seabrook triple jumped 8.36m and high jumped 1.25m.

Karen Marsh came second in the 100m hurdles in 19.5secs and threw the discus 16.88m.

In the javelin, Alex Bottomley threw 27.75m. and Christina Rimmer 12.79m.

Erin Makin long jumped 4.67m. and Rachel McGoldrick ran the 800m.

The 4x100m. relay team of Lauren, Hannah, Christina and Maddie clocked 57.7secs.

For the men Tom Mckeever threw the javelin 54.07m. and Mike Hughes threw the hammer 31.31m and the shot 7.72m,. Jacob Beesley threw the discus 32.23m and the shot 7.16m and Nathan Orr threw the discus 28.41m and the hammer threw 14.88m.(PB).

Steve Anders ran a PB in the 800m. with 2 min.06secs. then half an hour later ran the 3000m. steeplechase in 11 min.29 secs also a PB.

Lochlain Fisher and Jonathan Causer both ran PB’s in the 400m with 53.0secs. and 53.7secs. Tom Griffiths ran the 800m. in 2 min.02 secs. and the 1500m in 4 min.21 secs,. Luke Towers ran the 1500m. in 4 min.29 secs. (PB ) Greg Williams ran 3000m steeplechase, 110m hurdles and then a gruelling 5000m.

Phil Robinson had a busy day starting off with pole vault, 400m hurdles, 110m hurdles, high jump and javelin.
