St Helens Sutton A.C. competed in the first match of the Manchester area cross country league which was held at Woodbank Park, Stockport.

Charlie Roberts led the Under 13years boys team home in 15th place in a time of 13 min.30 secs, followed by Michael Brussels who finished 20th in 14 min.04 secs.

Ben Toole finished 26th, in 14 min.37 secs.

Lewis Turner competing over cross country for the first time, finished in 31st place in a time of 15 min.07 secs and Liam Houghton completed the 3.5km course in 32nd place in 15 min.08 secs.

The boys team finished 6th overall!

Also in this race were the U13yrs. girls, where Amber Escoffery led the girls home in 34th place in 16 min.09 secs. followed by Alyx Bridge who completed the race in 41st place in 16 min.48 secs.

For the U15s girls 4.5km race, Lucy Price finished in 40th place in a time of 22 min.51 secs and Chloe Orrick completed the race in 42nd place in 25 min.24 secs.

The U17yrs. men saw Anthony Walker finish in 18th place in 25 min.21 secs. followed by Joseph Walker who completed the race in 19th place in 26 min.13 secs.. With Leon Hill competing in his first cross country covering the distance of 6.5km in 23rd place in 29 min.06 secs the team finished 5th overall.

The senior ladies race saw Maddie Williams cover the distance of 8.5km in 40 min.55 secs to finish in 78th place.

Representing the senior men, Greg Williams covered the distance of 9.5km in 36 min.43 secs finishing 120th, Jamie White finished 152nd in 37 min.50 secs and Ian Costello finished in 227th place in 40 min.13 secs.

With Ian Hayburn completing the race in 251st place in 40 min.53 secs. and Ian Roberts finishing in 342nd place in 44 min.15 secs..
