ST HELENS Striders travelled to Leeds this weekend to compete in the Kirkstall Abbey seven-mile off road event.

Tony Padmore was first Strider home in 50.58 followed by Louise Padmore 1.11.18, Jackie Dobson 1.11.22 and Anthony Jones 1.15.25.

Closer to home in an unseasonably warm Southport, Paul Demore put in a sterling performance in the Natterjack Seaside 10k finishing in 39.27.

Kylie Maguire came home in 46.11 and Peter Teeling 48.43. In the Peak District Emily Curbishly finished the Macclesfield Half Marathon in a credible 2.05.27 on what is a challenging and hilly course and Neil Hunter travelled to Windsor where he completed the Windsor Half Marathon in 1.43.55.

Taking part (and raising money) in the Willowbrook Hospice ‘My Dualthlon’ saw Rich Seville, Debs Hill, Frank McAllister, Gary Ward and Nicola Howarth tackle the 3km run, a 30km cycle and another 3km run starting from Knowsley Safari Park and taking in surrounding areas.
