ST HELENS karate star Nicole Donoghue returned from the European Shotokan Karate Championships in Zurich, Switzerland with a bronze medal.
The 19-year-old from Bold Heath, along with her team mates Rebecca Morrison from Kirkby and Beth Nicolson from Newcastle, narrowly lost to eventual tournament winners Hungary.
All in all England ranked fourth on the medal list, taking a total of 10 European medals for ESKA 2014.
Although 2015 will see the World Championship take place in Poland along with the Europeans in Ireland, for now Donoghue will concentrate on the club itself and go forward for squad selection once more in 2015.
Dedicated to the sport, Donoghue trains under the watchful eye of Sensei Ian Roberts at St Helens Karate and often ranks in the top three in regional, national and international competitions.
Training is every Tuesday and Thursday at Sutton Leisure Centre, anyone aged from five up to adults are very welcome.
