SOME of the country’s leading horses will compete at Haydock Park this weekend as it hosts the Group Two Betfred Temple Stakes Raceday this Saturday.

The exciting line-up for the Temple Stakes, which is the opening sprint event of the QIPCO British Champions Series, includes last year’s winner Kingsgate Native, who was also triumphant in 2010 while Sole Power, who won in 2011 will also run.

The duo, having won three of the last four runnings of the race between them, will also arrive at Haydock in form with Sole Power having beaten Kingsgate Native in the Palace House Stakes at Newmarket by just half a length earlier this month.

Other entries include Hot Streak, the three-year-old who finished third to Sole Power in the Palace House Stakes.

In addition, an amazing £15 million is potentially up for grabs for a single Scoop6 winner this weekend, with a number of Scoop6 races likely to take place at Haydock Park Racecourse.

Garry Fortune, Haydock Park Racecourse general manager, said: “The Betfred Temple Stake is one of our highest quality fixtures of the year and always proves to be a fantastic day out for race goers.

“It’s gearing up to be top-class race card with Kingsgate Native and Sole Power on course to line-up again this weekend.

“We look forward to welcoming large crowds of racing fans to come and enjoy a great day out.”

The first race will be run at 1.35pm with the gates opening at 11.35am. Admission will be available on the day but discounted tickets can be bought before midnight on Friday at www.haydock-park.co.uk or by calling 0844 579 3006.
