YET another busy racing weekend for St Helens Striders, many of whom are warming up for the St Helens 10K.
Striders took part in the monthly MerseyVend 5km at Halewood. First Strider in was Pete Fairclough in 19:27 (PB), very closely followed by Rachael Fishwick in 19:34 (PB) and Chris Reid in 19:43 (PB). Next in were Chris Falls (20:42) and Paul Demore (20:43), with Pauline Horsfall coming home in 22:05, Tony Horsfall in 24:18 and first timer Phillip Jones in 26:06.
Meanwhile Simon Poole tackled the Marmalade Trail Run, a 10k off-road race near Ullswater. Simon finished in 53:30, 26th.
Ian Wright and Kevin Monaghan braved wet weather to take on the Haweswater Half Marathon. Kevin Monaghan lead them home in 1:34:02, with Ian Wright smashing his half marathon PB 1:37:35.
On the same day, 4 striders took part in the Trotters 5, road race near Bolton. Kevin Brennan lead the Striders home in 32: 16, followed by Jo Jackson (45:34), Mike Brunt (52:56) and Vicki Kehoe (56:51).
