IT was an epic weekend for the St Helens Striders on Sunday.

A massive group attended the Trail 26 running festival- a 10km, half marathon and full marathon taking place in Grizedale forest in the Lake District.

Runners faced torturous weather conditions including non stop rain and gale force winds!

Peter Fairclough was first to finish the 10km, coming 5th overall.

Next up was Pauline horsfall, scooping the First Ladies vet prize, she was supported by Tony Horsfall, followed by Becky McKenna, Joanne Jackson, and rounded up by Michael Brunt, Victoria Kehoe and Debbie Hill.

Next up were the half marathoners – Kevin Brennan took the troop home, followed by Rachael Fishwick.

Next up was Paddy Lee, John Murphy, Gill Lee and Simon Poole, rounded up by Anita Hall and Ruth Besford.

Finally four Striders ran the marathon – Gary Spriggs, Jen Laurence, Chris Falls and Anita Hill Jones all completed the gruelling challenge.

Meanwhile Chris Reid ran the Rhyl 10miler in a new PB of 69:44.

Roger Haslett also took part in the great north west half marathon in Blackpool in a new PB of 1:43:22.
