10:38am Friday 5th October 2012 in Sport
SAINTS’ Langtree Park home will once again be hosting top level European football next month when Liverpool FC stage two of their NextGen Series fixtures in the town.
Some of the best young footballers in Europe will be on show when the Reds take on Norwegian side Rosenberg on November 13 followed by a clash with Germany’s Dortmund on November 28.
Both matches kick off at 7pm.
It follows on from the successful staging of Liverpool v Ajax match last season which saw more than 6,000 fans turn up.
And in between those clashes Langtree Park will host Liverpool's U21s against a Chelsea side likely to include a few big names on November 18 at 2pm.
Dave Hutchinson, Head of Sales and Marketing at Saints, said: "I think it is great for the Borough of St Helens and for the wider communities of the region that we can attract this calibre of match.
"Liverpool are one of the most successful clubs in the world and have a great history. We are delighted that following the popularity of last season's game that the club have once again decided to play their matches here.
"The facilities we can offer are second to none and I'm sure players and football fans alike will be impressed."
Ticket details will be announced via Saints and Liverpool in due course.
