SUNDAY saw St Helens Town JFC U16s secure Warrington Junior Football League Cup success with a 4-0 victory over Inter Linnets from Runcorn at Warrington Town FC.

In hot conditions the first half was a close encounter between two sides occupying second and third in the league.

A looping header from Town’s Callum McLoughlin was all that separated the teams at the interval.

The St Helens youngsters stepped up a gear in the second half and further goals from Kieran Curtis and Chad Dugba, two, ensured the trophy returned to St Helens.

The Under 16s now require a single point from their remaining two fixtures to secure runners-up spot in the Warrington JFC U16s Premier Division.
