Knutsford have reason to be cheerful after extending their lead at the Cheshire League summit.
KNUTSFORD added to their advantage at the Division One summit despite being held to a draw at Linotype on Saturday.
The champions moved eight points clear of closest rivals Whaley Bridge, Richard Smart claiming Reds’ goal while Sam Pollard hit the net for the hosts.
Elsewhere Garswood United climbed to fifth in the standings after scoring seven times at wooden spoonists Grappenhall, while Greenalls won on the road at Pilkington.
Ben Slater’s brace, the second from the spot, rendered top scorer Graeme Green’s reply for the home team a consolation.
In Division Two, Poynton’s promotion hopes were hit after they shared six goals with lowly Moore United.
A double for Andrew Simpson, plus a third goal from Mark Faulkner, edged the visitors up a place to second in the standings.
In the only other game to survive the weather, seventh-placed Golborne Sports came from behind to win at rock-bottom Daten.
