RAINFORD notched their second win with a six wicket victory against Sefton Park in Division One of the Liverpool Gin Liverpool Competition.

Stephen Birkitt did the early damage taking 4 for 28 and with Andy Davies once again bagging three wickets, this time for 26 runs, Sefton were dismissed for 154.

Paul Farrar provided the perfect start with 67 before Anthony Reid (25 not out) and John Dotters (27) saw Rainford safely home.

The second X1 achieved a high scoring win at Maghull to leave them top of the table. The home side batted first, declaring 241 for 6, with Mark Farrar taking 3 for 61. The Rainford reply was once again led by skipper Mark Brook with a fine 78.

Dan Harrison played his part with 49 and valuable contributions from Ehren Agarwal 924) and Tom Dillon (23) helped Rainford to a two wicket win.

On Sunday the 3rd X1 put up a brave display against a strong Highfield outfit, eventually losing by 70 runs. Highfield posted 235 for 7 with Ben Evans bagging three wickets. Rainford replied with 165, Phil Curran (70) George Reid (39) (J A Williams 22).
