RAINFORD earned a much needed win at home to Ainsdale after an improved performance saw the visitors dismissed for 133.
Andy Davies took the honours with 5 for 30 and Pravin Tambe claimed 3 for 33. Joe Noctor opened up and took Rainford through to victory by six wickets with 61 not out with Tambe contributing a valuable 49.
The second X1 fought out a draw in the reverse fixture up at Ainsdale after the home side had compiled 208 for 4.
Jack Hemingway 33 and Ellie Threlkeld 43, progressed Rainford towards the total but after losing a number of quick wickets it was left to sipper Andrew Harrison 45 not out and last man in, young Tom Preston, to hold out for a well-earned draw.
On Sunday the seconds lost out in their Chester Cup Tie at Maghull while the 3rd X1 lost a close encounter at Southport and Birkdale by two wickets.
