RAINFORD made certain of their continued future in the Med Imaging Liverpool and District Cricket Competition Division 1 with a 67 run victory at Northop Hall. After a poor run of form they have put it together to achieve the last two wins that will enable the club to start planning for next season in some comfort.
West Indian Daron Cruickshank led the way to the win on Saturday with another superb innings of 141 not out and then followed it up in the second half to take six Northop Hall wickets for 61. Contributions from Matt Bailey (25), Ravi Mistry (23) and John Dotters (22) enabled a declaration at 247 for 7 before dismissing the home side for 180. John Dotters again bowled well to collect 3 for 47.
The 2nd X1, already assured of promotion, struggled against a strong looking Sutton second eleven. Sutton posted 164 with Phil Curran taking 4 for 29 before dismissing Rainford for 95.
