MARTIN Murray’s opponent for the hastily arranged bout on the undercard of Saturday’s Carl Froch versus George Groves ‘Battle of Britain’ World title clash has been confirmed.
The 31-year-old Fingerpost fighter will tackle Belarusian Sergey Khomitsky over ten rounds at the Phones 4u Arena, Manchester.
Murray has fought the experienced Belarusian before, winning on points in Wigan in 2009.
Khomistsky – a veteran of 39 paid bouts – is on a four-fight winning streak, but Murray should be in a different class.
Having not fought since his controversial defeat in Argentina against Sergio Martinez, Murray will be glad to blow off some cobwebs after seeing his scheduled bout against Garth Wood in Sydney scrubbed.
