THROUGH an excellent team performance, making light of a number of regular players being unavailable, and at one point reduced to 13 men, the visitors recorded a fine win against historically tough opposition.
Tries from centre Kalam Warburton and flanker Chris Fortune, the latter coming after a superb break from prop Craig Dyas , were both expertly converted by fly half Matt Savage. He also landed three important penalties to put the game beyond the home side, who were never out of the game, scoring two converted tries themselves.
West Park can be well satisfied with this result, as the margin of victory could have been much greater having as they did two further tries somewhat controversially disallowed.
Whilst the forwards provided a good platform and plenty of ball for the visitors back division, fine performances by fly half Matt Savage and strong running centre Kalam Warburton proved to be decisive.
Next week West Park will hope to repeat their success as they travel to Anselmians, kick off 3pm.
West Park 2nd XV 12 pts V Eccles 2nd XV 22pts
