Langtree Park to host St Helens Cup Final

SAINTS’ Langtree Park will be the setting for this year’s St Helens Cup Final with National Conference Premiership outfit Thatto Heath taking on Pilkington Recs from the North West Men’s League on Wednesday.

It will be the first time Saints’ new home has staged the town’s open age amateur rugby league showpiece – with the venue adding to the sense of occasion.

Although both teams are still have plenty of rugby to play in their respective divisions, this battle for local bragging rights will provide a welcome midweek distraction.

Thatto Heath’s open age head coach Andy Bailey said: “We’re really excited about playing in the St Helens Cup Final, especially as this year it is being held at Langtree Park. “We’re in the middle of our playing season so the lads are training well and everyone is looking forward to the game. “The opportunity to play at such fantastic facilities has really got the lads buzzing and I hope as many people as possible get down to the ground to watch some great amateur rugby.”

The St Helens Cup Premier Final, Thatto Heath versus Pilkington Recs takes place on Wednesday, September 5, 7pm. Admission £5/ £2 concessions.
