HAYDOCK were missing a few players but still overcame Thatto Heath A to stay top of North West Men’s League Division One.
Haydock got on the scoreboard first when a neat pass from Dean Dollin put in stand off Jordan Gibson.
Thatto scored a try from acting half back to level the scores at 4-4.
When it looked like Thatto may score again Karl Dingsdale saved the day with a timely interception and went 90 metres to put Haydock back in front by 8-4 after 21 minutes.
Haydock swiftly moved the ball right and Daryl Rotherham sent the final pass to Dollin, who went over in the corner.
A neat pass by Mike Sexton put Scott Johnson through a gap to score and put Haydock in the driving seat at 18-4.
Haydock quickly moved the ball through hands and a final pass from Dollin put Josh Jackson over.
Thatto replied with a tbarge-over try by their second sow forward to make it 24-10 after 54mins.
Two minutes later a Thatto kick was picked up by Dollin and then he used his speed and side step to go round the Thatto defence and cross from 90 metres.
Man of the match award went to Dean Dollin with good displays from Rotherham, Wayne Dollin, Jordan Gibson and Scott Johnson.
