CLOCK Face Miners continued their impressive unbeaten start to the season with a 42-22 home win against Gateshead Storm.

Clock were first to break the early arm wrestle when Chris Sheffield pounced on a Gateshead mistake to score under the posts. A Pete Bekker try followed and slick passing put Luke Forber through a gap to also score for the home side. On the final play of the first half Clock kicked on the first tackle from a scrum for Alex Burke to collect and score to give Clock a commanding 22-0 half time lead.

Gateshead started the second half with some vigour and were rewarded with a try out wide. Clock went to pieces for a spell as Gateshead ran in two further trys before a Callum Topping try settled Clock back into their rhythm. Two further trys by Karle Hunt extended Clock’s lead, his second came off the back of some quality handling. Gateshead pulled one back but, Ben Rigby put the icing on the cake for Clock when he raced in to score under the posts. Jordy Cresser also slotted over 5 conversions.

Clock travel to Humberside on Saturday to play Beverley in a, NCL division 3, top of the table clash.
